There is no longer a box over the subscriptions or the box at the right that tells you about comments, shared with you, etc...
it looks ugly and I liked the red thing notifying you and it looks really plain and boring now.Why did youtube change the frontpage?They have revamped the whole site recently. You could try and contact them to give your feedback on their forums.
